Before Avelie had a name, products, or a website, there was Nova.
She's our little brown toy poodle, and she has a way of making the smallest things feel important. A walk isn't just a walk when there are so many interesting smells to investigate. Playtime can start with a toy nudged against your hand. And bedtime has a routine all its own.
Living with Nova made us pay attention to the little bits of care that happen every day. A paw check and cleaning after every walk. Keeping her face tidy. Brushing her curly coat every day, especially at her ears, tail and sides, where tangles like to start. Checking how she's doing instead of waiting until a small issue turns into a bigger one.
We played with her paws from the time she was a puppy, so being cared for has always felt normal to her. That's a big part of why her routine stays so easy.
We didn't start with a product idea
We started with the things we were already doing for a dog we love. Over time, it made sense to bring those everyday essentials together in one place and share the routine with other small-dog families.
That's where Avelie came from. Not the idea that dog care should be complicated or expensive for the sake of it, but the belief that ordinary care deserves thoughtful attention.
Every little dog is different
Nova likes what she likes, and we're always learning from her. We don't expect every dog to love brushing, enjoy having their paws touched, or need the same products on the same schedule.
Our approach is simple: we'll explain and demonstrate what we do, and you decide what makes sense for your dog. No guilt. No perfect-dog-parent checklist. Just useful ideas and the freedom to make them your own.
From our home to yours
The Avelie Daily Care Kit brings together wipes, a grooming brush, paw and nose balm, and a walk-care roll, along with Nova's Note. We also created Avelie Gives because we want each kit to support rescue dogs in need.
